This seems mindless. But when your guests go from ceremony to reception, they are going to be thirsty. This will especially come in handy if you either don’t have an open bar, or it’s not open yet. If for some reason, you have a delay between Ceremony and Cocktail Hour, your guests will need to wet their palette.
Again…if there is going to be a gap between your “I Do’s” and the “I’ll take two’s” you’ll want to have a few snacks at the table. Whether you want to admit it or not, weddings don’t always go according to plan. So, it’s better to have something for your guests to nosh on in case there’s a little down time before the festivities begin.
Everyone loves trivia! Put together a list of questions about the bride and groom or even the wedding party, parents or grandparents. People love a little challenge and it’ll keep them entertained. Mad Libs are always a good time too. If you want to go big, designate an entire space at your wedding to games! Pool tables, board games, poker, and ping pong. Or have little tabletop versions at your guest tables.
It’s the greatest thing on the planet. That’s the only reason you should need.
Photos are an excellent addition to the tabletops. They can be ice breakers too, if you had to seat some people together that may not know each other. You don’t have to be excessive with the pictures. Use one or two of you and your future spouse, old elementary school pictures are always worth laugh, as well. Be sentimental and use photos of your loved ones that may have passed away. Don’t be sentimental at all and use random pictures of things you like. For example, I thoroughly enjoy the band Queen, so I may have pictures of Freddie Mercury for my guests to ponder over. But to each their own.
