Thinking about having a beach wedding? A beach wedding sounds so glamorous, yet so casual. You can wear classy dresses and suits, but you can skip the shoes! Your guests will probably be anticipating vases on their dinner table filled with sand, seashells, possibly a starfish, or various beachy baubles. Here’s the catch though… all of that is predictable at a beach wedding! So here are a few ideas outside of the clamshell to get you waving goodbye to the ordinary and setting sail towards the unexpected!
We’re digging deep on this one. As in, bottom of the ocean, deep. Wear them around your neck, wrist, ankle or dangling from your earlobes. Don’t just think jewelry though. String them across chairs or hang them from ceiling lights for a DIY chandelier. Use edible sugar pearls on your cake or cupcakes. Just don’t go overboard, unless you want a Zsa Zsa Gabor themed wedding, then pearl it up!
Salt Water Taffy
This stuff is like little pieces of gold in a white waxy wrapper. Fill a glass jug and use it as a centerpiece, or scatter it on the table for some added color. You can even use it as favors or stick a pin in it and use it as a place card. If you don’t want it to be the focal point but still want it around, then put it on the dessert table with the rest of the tasty treats.
Not only is it unbelievably attractive, but it is also practical! Find a crafty friend to make coasters or ring dishes to give as wedding party gifts. Make an edible version and use on the cake or cupcakes next to the sugar pearls! If you’re not keen on having glass around, use the blues and greens as color inspiration for dresses, ties, flowers, and napkins.
